Hyderabadi masala chicken

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons mustard oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  5. Add coriander powder and garam masala. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add a cup of water, cover, and simmer until the chicken is cooked through and the gravy thickens.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with rice or roti.
